Executive Coaching

We help leaders succeed at the hardest part of their job: personal change.

Leadership is about achieving results through others. To get different results, the leader has to do leadership differently. Changing results begins with personal growth and change to become the kind of leader that others want to follow.

What is Executive Coaching?

Executive coaching is a dynamic relationship that allows the leader to become the most effective version of themselves—to reach and sustain their personal best as a leader.

In that relationship, the coach acts as both a mirror—helping the leader to see themselves—and as a trainer—pointing out the beliefs and behaviors that are in the way of success and the path to overcome.

Executive coaching accelerates the journey to your personal best.

We have a tendency to measure ourselves against the people around us.   They become our point of reference.   A good coach will evaluate your performance against your potential.  A coach helps you measure your performance against your strengths instead of against someone else’s.   A coach will know what you are capable of and will push you to your limit2."   -Andy Stanley

Why Do CEO's Hire a Coach?

CEO Scenario 1:
As CEO, I want to continue to grow this company, but I have reached my personal capacity. I feel stuck and often wonder if I am failing in other areas of my life because I work so much.

We work with you to understand how to increase your bandwidth as a leader through balance, self-leadership, and leading through others.

CEO Scenario 2:
As CEO, I've noticed that my senior team is not functioning as a team. It seems like they are all going in different directions, which makes me feel like no one else is seeing the big picture.

We work with you to find alignment and coordination. We can help to build and/or overhaul your senior team to increase their effectiveness.

CEO Scenario 3:
As CEO, there is chronic conflict at the top of the organization. This is leading to chronic health issues, such as worry, tension, stress, or worse.

We work with you to resolve current conflicts and help you learn the skills to navigate and resolve future conflict to create a positive working environment for everyone.

CEO Scenario 4:
As CEO, I feel like I need to take my leadership to a new level. I worry about my competence and fear falling behind or letting people down.

We work with you on personal and professional growth to build your confidence. We help you become the best version of yourself, gain your own leadership style, and stop trying to measure up to a "template CEO."

CEO Scenario 5:
As CEO, I feel like others have a negative view of me. I may have some poor relationships with my direct reports. I don't feel like others trust or understand me as their leader.

We work with you to be understood, replace negative impressions with positive ones, and remove barriers. We will help you to foster relationships and to master people skills, including creating genuine accountability and non-manipulative motivation.

What is your approach?

Our 4D Executive Coaching Program methodology is built on the highly effective “Appreciative Inquiry” process that turns traditional problem-solving methodology on its head. It is a strengths-based approach that builds on current leadership wins to tackle and overcome obstacles.

Energy follows focus. What you focus on gets bigger and more energetic. When you focus on problems, they grow and get meaner. When you focus on assets, they grow and give you energy to overcome problems and achieve goals. The 4D approach harnesses this reality to help executives succeed.

The four steps of this approach are:

  1. Decode Your Leadership DNA (Appreciate the best of what exists.)
  2. Define Success (Imagine what else is possible.)
  3. Design Strategies (Plan strategies to implement.)
  4. Develop Sustainable Rhythm (Do the necessary work.)
“You will never maximize your potential in any area without coaching.   It is impossible.   You may be good; you may even be better than everyone else.   But without outside input, you will never be as good as you could be.   We all do better when somebody is watching and evaluating1."  -Andy Stanley
